No matter how large or private your event may be, there is a lot to consider when planning. Peek into our process with answers to our most frequent questions.

  • I am unsure what package to choose, can you make recommendations?
    Of course! We are all about your vision. We work closely with you during consultation, discussing your needs, expectations,, budget and theme; to determine the most suitable package. Submit an enquiry today to hear from us.
  • How long will the band play?
    A typical performance includes 3 hours of playing, short set breaks and bumpin/soundcheck/bumpout. We have found that the following set configurations suit us and our clients very well. Option 1 - 4 x 45 minute sets (15 minute breaks between each set) Option 2 - 3 x 60 minute sets (One 15 minute break and one 30 minute break) If you require customised set times, including fewer or more performance hours, we can accomodate!
  • What does the booking process look like?
    Typical Booking Process: Submit an enquiry on our site. Initial Consultation. Discuss event feel, expectations, requirements, logistic questions, budget. Check musician availability. Follow-up Discussion. Confirm band size, performance times, song choices, and any specifics. Confirmation of availablility for event date, time and address. Receive Two Invoices. The 50% Deposit to secure your band, and the remainder due 3 weeks prior to event date. Payment 1 - 50% Deposit due to secure date. Specifics Discussion. May include site viewing, set-list completion and reviewing event runsheet. Payment 2 - 50% remainder due 3 weeks prior to event date. Performance setup and soundcheck on event date.
  • Can the band perform outside?
    Yes, our bands can absolutely accomodate playing outdoors. In these situations we require shade, a flat level surface and a power supply close to the performance area.
  • How do I hire a specific artist/s?
    Do you have a specific musician or vocalist in mind for your custom band? Contact us today and we will take care of the rest.
  • Can I choose songs for the band to play?
    Yes, you can choose songs for the band to play! Our musicians can learn specific songs before the event, however we usually limit this to 5 songs, as we may need to source sheet music for each musician. You are also welcome to select a set list from our extensive repertoire, or if you prefer, you can let us choose the music for you.
  • Can the band play digital tracks during their set breaks?
    Yes, we’re happy to play music from a pre-approved Spotify playlist before, after and between our sets. We’re happy to choose the music ourselves or let the client choose the music. If you would like to choose the tracks, please email our team a link or access to your own playlist. Please send us this information at least 7 days before the date of your event.
  • Can I watch the band perform live before booking?
    While we don’t have regular public performances, we occasionally play at local venues and events. You can check our social media or contact us to see if any of our bands have upcoming shows. If attending a live performance isn’t possible, we’re happy to email you recordings or videos of previous performances that match the type of event you're planning, giving you a clear idea of the style and atmosphere our bands can create.
  • How can I pay?
    We accept payment via bank transfer or credit card. Please note: We do on-charge fees associated with credit card payments. (1.75% + A$0.30 for domestic cards and 3.5% + A$0.30 for international cards).
  • Do I need to pay a deposit?
    Yes, we require a 50% deposit to secure your date and band. The deposit protects both parties from any last-minute cancellations or changes. The deposit is non-refundable, and will be subtracted from the full performance fee. Our team will discuss all financial expectations during consultation.
  • Will you refund my deposit?
    Metro Music requires a 50% deposit to secure a booking. The deposit is non-refundable, but in some circumstances, we may offer to reschedule the booking if notice is given within a reasonable timeframe. If you need to cancel a booking, please notify us as soon as possible.
